Digital Ethics Charter
Technology at LumenArc is never neutral. Every decision we make carries values. This charter makes those values explicit and binding.
Six Binding Principles
These are not aspirations. They are standards we hold ourselves accountable to. We publish them publicly so that you can hold us to them too.
Human Wellbeing Over Engagement
We do not optimize for addictive behavior. Our environments are designed to be visited intentionally and left willingly. We build no dark patterns, no infinite scroll, no psychological hooks designed to trap you. Time well spent is the only metric we care about.
Artist Credit and Compensation
Every human artist, sound designer, and creative collaborator who contributes to LumenArc is credited and compensated before any AI system is involved. Our generative tools augment human creativity — they do not replace or invisibilize it. All artist contributions are documented and disclosed in each world's credits.
Transparent AI
We disclose when AI is used in the creation of our environments. We do not train our generative models on artists' work without consent. We participate in and advocate for ethical AI licensing frameworks. Our AI processes are audited annually by an independent reviewer.
Privacy as Architecture
We collect only what is necessary to provide our service. We do not sell your data. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not track you across the web. Privacy is not an option we give you — it is the default state of our system.
Environmental Responsibility
We optimize our platform to minimize computational overhead. Our servers run on renewable-energy-powered infrastructure. We avoid unnecessary asset loading, over-engineered animation, and wasteful rendering. Beautiful experiences should not cost the Earth.
Accessibility and Inclusion
Our environments are built to be experienced by as many people as possible. We provide reduced-motion modes, text descriptions for visual environments, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility. We are on a continuous journey toward fuller accessibility and welcome feedback from our community.

How We Stay Honest
Publishing an ethics charter means nothing if it is not enforced. Here is how we hold ourselves accountable:
Annual Ethics Audit
Every year, an independent reviewer assesses our compliance with these principles and publishes a summary report available to all LumenArc users. We commit to acting on all findings within 90 days.
Community Reporting
Any user can report a perceived ethics violation through our dedicated channel at [email protected]. All reports are reviewed by our Ethics Lead and responded to within 14 days.
Charter Evolution
This charter will grow with our understanding. As technology changes, as our community expands, and as new ethical challenges emerge, we will update these principles — always transparently, always with community notice, and always in the direction of greater responsibility.
No Silent Changes
We commit to never silently degrading our ethical standards. If a business constraint ever requires a change to this charter, we will announce it openly, explain our reasoning, and give users the choice to leave before the change takes effect.
